Howdy from Dallas, Texas!
Never in a million years did I think Zack and I would be living in Texas! Honestly – kinda thought we were gonna be in NC for the long haul, but I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: NEVER say never!
Life loves to throw ya a curveball, and boy did it hit us with a big one this time!
Long story short: Zack was offered a really incredible job opportunity out of nowhere (a recruiter found him – he literally did not apply at all), and less than 2 weeks later he found out he got the job. And a couple weeks after that we were driving to Texas!
Our move kinda happened in two parts.
Part 1: Driving to Dallas with Zack’s car, Zack starting his new job, and the search for our house! I spent 2 weeks in Dallas with Zack and we were go, go, go! And our work paid off because we managed to find a house! Literally still a bit in shock that we are homeowners now!
Part 2: I went back to NC to pack up all our stuff, and once we closed on the house I would head back to Dallas with my car and the cats. Zack had to stay in Dallas for his job (obviously), and it absolutely SUCKED being apart for 3 weeks. I don’t know how people do long distance relationships!!
We’ve officially been in our house for 3 weeks now and we’re slowly getting settled in. Everything is unpacked but there’s lots of organizing to do. I wish I could snap my fingers and everything would be perfect BUT it’s all part of the process. I also have too many ideas for how I want to decorate so I need to take my time and decide before I start putting nail holes in all the walls.
