What a year. I’m not going to dwell on the negatives here too much – we are all too familiar with the bad. Instead I want to do a little reflecting on some of the positives and share some goals I have for 2021.
REFLECTIONS
First things first – 2020 was the year I decided to “rebrand” my blog from a fashion/lifestyle blog to a travel blog. Hardys on Holiday was born. Little did I know, 2020 would be the year that essentially halted travel. Well…not completely, but we definitely had to get creative.
There were more day trips and lots of time spent outside.
But there was also a lot of time spent at home. When we couldn’t go anywhere, I tried to stay creative: lots of painting, tie-dying, new recipes, and launching my business, Sincerelee (one of my proudest moments of the year).
A few of my personal takeaways from 2020:
• be thankful for the little things.
• it’s ok to slow down and take a break.
• you are stronger than you think
GOALS
I like to spend the first few days of the new year thinking about what goals I’d like to set for myself, and I wanted to share a few of them:
explore new things // Whether it’s traveling to new places or trying new hobbies
make more travel videos // We launched our youtube channel in 2020 and had a blast editing our Japan and Cartagena video, but obviously we didn’t go on any other big trips. This year I’d like to come up with some fun new videos to share (whether it’s day trips or something else).
learn new design skills // Whether it’s learning more about video editing (see above goal) or stepping up my knowledge in other areas of design – I just want to keep learning.
support more small businesses // After starting my own small business AND seeing how hard so many small businesses were affected during 2020, I want to support them even more!
get dressed more // This one might sound a little silly, but I’d like to make more of an effort to get dressed this year. Not everyday…just MORE. I’m all for living in my sweats, but I do miss putting on a cute outfit.
Alright, 2021, let’s do this!
