I‘ve already shared my Cartagena Travel Guide, but in this post I thought I would share a few of the most picturesque spots in the city, as well as some ideas to help you capture all the instagram-worthy photos for yourself.
Because if you didn’t post it on instagram, did you even go?

ONE: HOTEL FENIX BEACH
Hotel Fenix Beach Cartagena on Isla Tierra Bomba has so many insta-worthy spots from the beach beds to the bungalows to bathroom mirror selfies.

Props are also a great way to get creative with your photos – so why not take all those cocktails you’ll be sipping and snap a couple pics.

TWO: BLUE APPLE BEACH HOUSE
Also located on Isla Tierra Bomba is Blue Apple Beach House – another hotel on the other side of the island that sits right on the Caribbean Sea, Pose by the infinity pool (or in it), or head to the beach for a shot in the sand.

THREE: HOTEL MOVICH
Not island hopping on your visit? Not to worry – there’s PLENTY of places in the city. Head to the rooftop of Hotel Movich in Centro – it’s free to visit and the view is spectacular.

FOUR: CARTAGENA CATHEDRAL
Also in Centro – be sure to take a picture with the Cartagena Cathedral as your backdrop. If you don’t have access to a rooftop, head to Calle de Don Sancho for another great angle.

FIVE: FLAG STREET IN GETSEMANI
Ok to be fair – there are quite a few flag streets in Getsemani (and in other neighborhoods as well), and they are all PERFECT places for a photo. This specific one is located on Calle 29 between Calle 30 and Carrera 10.

SIX: UMBRELLA STREET
Also in Getsemani, there are (at least) 2 different streets covered with umbrellas: Calle de la Magdalena (pictured below) and Callejón Angosto.

SEVEN: Maria Bonita Taqueria Cantina
The flower wall inside Maria Bonita Taqueria Cantina was made for instagram. I decided to let my margarita take center stage for this one.

THESE NEXT 3 ARE ALL LOCATED IN THE SAN DIEGO NEIGHBORHOOD. THIS ENTIRE AREA IS A PHOTOGRAPHER’S HEAVEN WITH SO MANY COLORFUL BUILDINGS. I’M CALLING OUT A FEW OF MY FAVORITES BELOW:

EIGHT: CARRERA 9
On Carrera 9 between Calle 38 and Calle 39 you’ll find plenty of colorful walls and doors – including these giant, brightly colored doors sitting side by side.

NINE: CALLE 38
Who can resist a pretty pink wall? Find it on Calle 38 between Carrera 8 and 9.

TEN: CARRERA 8
More colorful doors and walls, beautiful flowers, and quiet streets (if you get there early, at least!) Located on Carrera 8 between Calle 38 and Calle 39.

And that’s just 10 picture-perfect places in Cartagena…but there are SO many more that you’ll discover when you visit. (Trust me, I have 500 photos on my iPhone to prove it!)
And if this doesn’t inspire you to plan a trip to Cartagena, maybe watching our youtube video will.
